Eating Right!

Many Ghanaians fall culprits to missing their breakfast every morning. There really isn’t any tangible excuse but people’s preferences in their choice of meals for the day usually affect their delivery or output most at times. It is important to note that Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout the day. It also gives you the energy you need to get things done and helps you focus at work. Many people skip the breakfast meal because they’re rushing to get out the door. That’s a mistake. You need food in your system long before lunchtime. If you don’t eat first thing, you may get so hungry later on that you snack on high-fat, high-sugar foods. As human beings our bodies need some amount of energy to fuel our day. Breakfast takes charge of this and cannot be avoided.  Here are some few tips on the important of breakfast to your body:

  • Breakfast always keeps you focused
Eating a healthy breakfast helps one to feel more focused ahead of the day’s tasks. Whether at work or simply getting on with your daily routines. There’s nothing worse than being constantly aware that you are hungry and counting the minutes until lunchtime. Eating food in the morning not only fuels you until lunchtime but gives our brains the essential energy to function and focus better on tasks throughout the day.
Breakfast charges one up and makes one happy!
It will amaze you to know that the foods we eat are intrinsically linked to our moods, and whilst many of us aren’t morning people, we can assure you that you will be less grumpy if you eat a good breakfast meal. This is because eating in the morning gives our bodies that essential boost to get us going and balances blood sugars to prevent tired and cranky feelings!
    Controls your appetite
Most people are of the adage that skipping a meal will make one lose weight when infact it’s the direct opposite. If you don’t eat breakfast, you are way more likely to end up snacking and nibbling on things throughout the morning, which could pile up the unhealthy calories you are trying to avoid. Stay away from overly refined snacks with added sugar. Skipping the morning meal can throw off your body’s rhythm of fasting and eating. When you wake up, the blood sugar your body needs to make your muscles and brain work their best is usually low. Breakfast helps replenish it.
    Energise yourself
It’s simple, if you don’t eat, you won’t feel so great. This especially applies to your first meal of the day. Our bodies need energy to function, and that energy comes from food. As soon as we start eating in the morning, we kickstart our body chemistry which gets us feeling energized and ready for the day.
If your body doesn’t get that fuel from food, you may feel a relatively drop in your level of energy before midday, and you’ll be more likely to overeat later in the day.
Breakfast also gives you a chance to acquire some vitamins and nutrients from healthy foods like dairy, grains, and fruits. If you don’t eat it, you aren’t likely to get all the nutrients your body needs. Taking multivitamins is good.
